Education and Training
Art training, Royal Academy of Zagreb, Yugoslavia
Brussels Academy of Fine Arts, Brussels, Belgium,1914


Teachers and Influences
Vanka's Millvale murals were influenced by works of Mexican muralists Diego Rivera and Jose Clemente Orozco.

Vanka was also strongly influenced by the works of Goya and Daumier.


Connection to Bucks County
Vanka was a resident of Rushland, Pennsylvania from 1941 to 1963. He exhibited in Bucks County galleries.

Vanka taught art appreciation at the National Agricultural College outside of Doylestown, and later established the art department at Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture in New Britain, Pennsylvania.
