To support the mission of the BCIU, the Non-Public division strives to ensure optimal student growth through collaborative initiative, design and delivery of exemplary services.
At this time, more than 140 nonpublic schools in Bucks County are eligible to receive services for their students, and over 18,300 students in nonpublic schools benefit annually from these services.

Q. How do I order materials?
A. To order materials, complete a Request for Tobacco Education Materials Form. This form can be downloaded here, or obtained by contacting your District Coordinator, or the School Tobacco Coordinator at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit at 215/348-2940 Ext. 1295.

Q. May I submit requests for materials related to other important issues besides tobacco? (For example - alcohol, drugs, violence, sexuality, peer pressure, etc.)
A. No. The funds are to be used only for tobacco education. The materials need to be for primary tobacco education, although they may contain information addressing other issues.

Q. How much money can I request?
A. Funds are distributed throughout all public and nonpublic schools in Bucks County. Therefore, the amount of funds given to an individual school varies according to many factors such as previous funds awarded, efficacy or impact of the materials requested, amount of requests received from other schools, number of students being impacted by materials, etc.

Q. Can the funds be used for teacher trainings on specific tobacco related curricula (For example - Project ALERT, LifeSkills, etc.)? A. Yes, The funds can be used for teacher trainings for tobacco-related curricula.

Q. Will the funds pay for substitute teachers so that our regular staff teacher can attend training?
A. No. The funds will not pay for substitute teachers, travel, transportation meals, or other costs. The funds will simply cover the cost of the training.
