Tobacco Control Project

Tobacco Control Project - As a result of the Tobacco Settlement Funds being available, the Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 is a partner with the Bucks County Tobacco Control Project (a program of the Health Promotion Council). The Bucks County Intermediate Unit #22 promotes a working relationship with school administrators and teachers to support, develop and implement tobacco-free policies, tobacco prevention curricula and tobacco cessation programs. The Intermediate Unit provides teachers in Bucks County's public and non-public schools with the opportunity to preview and order materials to complement classroom tobacco education. Funding can be provided to school districts for the implementation and training of research-based curriculums such as Project Alert, Life Skills, and TAR WARS. Schools can also be provided with Teen Cessation programs at their schools for students looking for assistance with nicotine dependence. Ron Rolon coordinates these programs.
