The most recent revisions to Act 48 by the Pennsylvania Department of Education requires all providers of professional education to evaluate these opportunities on two fronts. First, participants in the professional development must be surveyed in order to collect data relative to their perceptions of the organization of the event as well as the event's connection to each of the Department's 13 Professional Education Criteria. Participants complete this evaluation immediately following the professional learning experience. Second, the provider of Act 48 must follow up with an impact evaluation so data can be collected demonstrating the impact the professional development event has had upon one's professional practice. Participants complete the impact evaluation 4-6 weeks after the professional learning experience has occurred through a web-based survey system. Both pieces of data are important and are continually evaluated and monitored by our Act 48 Professional Education Advisory Council in making decisions for future events.
