The Bucks County Schools IU provides a variety of high quality instructional programs and support services that assist the 13 local districts in fulfilling their obligation to meet the needs of students with disabilities. A professional staff of specialists works with students, parents, and school district personnel to assure the optimal development of each learner.

Early Childhood Services
The Early Childhood Services program provides Preschool Early Intervention to three to five year old children living in Bucks County. Services are provided to eligible children in locations throughout the county.
The Itinerant Program for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing provides support for students ages 5-21 whose skills allow them to function with assistance in a regular educational setting.
Services are provided to students who have visual impairments which interfere with their ability to learn. The variety of services include direct instruction, adaptive materials and consultative support to students, classroom teachers, school nurses, guidance counselors, principals and parents.
The elementary program for the physically challenged provides a transitional program for students coming to the public school from early intervention services.
The Multiple Disabilities Support Program provides instruction for students 5-21 years of age who are severely/profoundly mentally retarded and have physical and sensory impairments.
