The elementary program for the physically challenged provides a transitional program for students coming to the public school from early intervention services. The students served by this program fall into two
main categories: those who have suffered some insult (i.e., cerebral palsy) and must now be trained to adapt in order to function and those whose conditions are degenerative and have reached a stage that they
are no longer able to function in other educational programs. Age of entrance and exit is dependent upon the students' condition and the degree of disability. The secondary level program focuses on
preparation for adult living and employment.
