An Educational Service Agency
Established in 1971 by the Pennsylvania General Assembly, the Bucks County Intermediate Unit operates as a regional educational service agency to provide cost-effective, management-efficient programs to public and private K-12 schools, school districts, and the community of Bucks County. Today, we continue to fulfill our mission of service by addressing both traditional and emerging needs, serving as an essential link for learning in Pennsylvania, and as a liaison between local schools and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Our Mission: The Bucks County Intermediate Unit is an educational service agency dedicated to compassionately supporting the needs of all learners and their families, school districts, and our community. Our collaborative approach is embedded in innovative teaching and experiential learning, responsive leadership, and effective business solutions.
Our Vision: To strengthen and grow inclusive cultures where all learn, flourish, and contribute.
Over the years, we have continued to grow and expand our services to cover a wide array of programs designed to address the special needs of the county’s children between the ages of birth to adult. Bucks County is home to more than 96,000 public and private school students, in over 270 schools, served by more than 9,000 educators.
