The Bucks IU provides expert consulting support and technology services – from simply providing information and support data to actual software, hardware, and networking – to educational institutions across the state. Our position as an educational service agency provides a level of knowledge and understanding of K-12 operations and requirements that outside organizations are unable to provide. The Bucks IU is integrally involved with our school districts, business offices, and individual schools on many levels and in such a way that it is incumbent upon us to ensure a superior level of service and quality.

We are able to investigate, recommend, design, deploy, update, and help maintain systems to ensure optimal computing and digital media operations. Through our cooperative purchasing efforts, we provide our partners with aggressive and attractive pricing opportunities on items such as networking, software packages, and hardware.

Our services include:

  • Bucks County Regional Wide Area Network (RWAN)
  • Microsoft Azure solutions to address and assist schools in implementing backup, disaster recover, computing, and other advanced cloud-based functionality
  • Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and wireless analysis, design, and implementation
  • Office 365 implementation, migration, and management support
  • Server and datacenter infrastructure design and guidance
  • Server and desktop client lifecycle design, implementation, maintenance, and support leveraging Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT), and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Design, implementation, maintenance, and support for many industry-specific applications
  • Technology staff professional development at all skill levels via on-site training, classroom-based seminars, and remote support capabilities

Councils for Communications

Our technology team hosts and manages two councils; Bucks County Technology Council (BCTC) and the Technology Directors Advisory Council (TAC).  These groups meet regularly to discuss local, regional, and statewide issues related to technology and its input on education. Representatives from the county’s 13 school districts and three Career Technical Centers actively share resources and best practices, collaborate on projects, and work towards advancing technology services and capacity across the county.
