On Thursday, April 9, 2020, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, based on COVID-19 pandemic response efforts,  ordered all public schools and early childhood education programs to close through the end of the 2019-2020 academic school year.

As a result, all Bucks County IU offices, programs, and services are closed through June 30, 2020. Families who receive services from the Bucks IU will continue to be provided a continuity of education through online or virtual platforms.

Responses to Right to Know requests will also be delayed until school offices open once again.

Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines Training

Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) is a workshop to provide guidelines for responding to student threats of violence. It is based on more than a decade of new research and practical experience.

CSTAG retains the original Virginia Student Threat Assessment Guidelines (VSTAG), but introduces a streamlined decision tree, more comprehensive forms, and guidance on threats by adults. It is intended for K-12 school-based multidisciplinary teams including administration, law enforcement, and mental health.

It Incorporates guidance from the FBI and U.S. Secret Service reports on school shootings. The program provides guidance on how to evaluate student and adult threats of violence, quickly resolve less serious transient threats and take appropriate action in response to more serious, substantive threats.

This program has been recognized as an evidence-based practice in 2013 by the federal government's National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP).
