Disrupting Thinking- Why How We Read Matters (for non-public educators)

Are you looking for new ways to support your students in connecting with text? Disrupting Thinking, by Beers and Probst, offers a new lens through which teachers can encourage students to connect deeply and meaningfully with text. In this FREE one-hour virtual session, teachers will be introduced to the Book-Head-Heart strategy and explore how it can be applied to best practices in reading. The workshop will feature a live presentation, with time at the end for collaboration and reflection.

THIS SESSION IS ONLY OPEN TO NONPUBLIC SCHOOLS THAT RESIDE WITHIN THE FOLLOWING LEAs: Bensalem Township, Bristol Borough, Central Bucks, Council Rock, Morrisville, Neshaminy, Pennridge, Pennsbury, and Quakertown.


    PLEASE NOTE: This session will be held virtually via Zoom. The link will be sent to the email that you have linked to your My Learning Plan account. The link will be emailed to that email address 12-24 hours before the session. Please be sure to check that email account!
    Participants will explore the "Book-Head-Heart" strategy to support readers in deeply engaging with text.
    Participants will discuss the qualities of readers they want to foster.
    Participants will review and reflect upon reading instruction best practices.
