EMERGENCY ALERT NOTIFICATION

On Thursday, April 9, 2020, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, based on COVID-19 pandemic response efforts,  ordered all public schools and early childhood education programs to close through the end of the 2019-2020 academic school year.

As a result, all Bucks County IU offices, programs, and services are closed through June 30, 2020. Families who receive services from the Bucks IU will continue to be provided a continuity of education through online or virtual platforms.

Responses to Right to Know requests will also be delayed until school offices open once again.

An Introduction to Formative Assessment

THIS IS A FREE 2-HOUR WORKSHOP THAT CONSISTS OF BOTH ONLINE WORK IN THE CANVAS LMS AND LIVE VIDEO SESSIONS.

Formative Assessment is more than checking for understanding. According to Dylan Wiliam (2015) formative assessment is a multi-step process that starts with setting learning intentions and the corresponding criteria for success. It extends into procedures for discussions, question-asking, and corrective feedback while also promoting. independence in learners. It is a type of assessment that guides instruction, therefore, it is known as assessment FOR instruction rather than assessment OF instruction. With this in mind, it is the type of assessment that leads to increased student achievement for ALL students (Hattie,2017).

This FREE workshop is designed to support educators in learning how to use the components of formative assessment to enhance their teaching with the goal of supporting all learners.
