Classroom Monitor Certification Course

Registrations Accepted up until June 30, 2023. This course fulfills the training requirement for individuals eligible to apply for the Classroom Monitor permit through PDE. Upon completion of this asynchronous virtual 3-hour training and a post-training reflection form, participants will be issued a certificate that must be submitted as part of the Classroom Monitor application process. The certificate issued by the Bucks IU will be valid through June 30, 2023.

Participants will learn about best practices for preparing for a Classroom Monitor assignment, including navigating the implementation of lesson plans and establishing positive relationships with students through the use of appropriate teacher language. Participants will understand the steps needed for a successful experience as a classroom monitor.

Upon successful completion of this course, the Bucks County Intermediate Unit will issue the individual a certificate. Each district/school will then be able to follow their requirements for registering this individual (e.g. filing the certificate with TIMS).
