Concussion: Translating Academic Adjustments to the Virtual Setting
This session will focus on recommendations that come from the medical setting as they relate to online learning. The presenter will discuss from a medical perspective how they determine based on the medical evaluation what might benefit the student's academic success in the virtual/hybrid learning environment. As well as the challenges of implementing these recommendations in a home learning environment.
Participant will be able to understand how medical based observations/evaluations of students with concussion can be translated into academic adjustments in a virtual learning environment.
Participant will be able to identify 3 barriers for students/teachers to implementing recommended academic adjustments in a virtual/hybrid learning environment.
Participant will be able to identify 3 academic adjustments that can be made in a virtual/hybrid environment given current contact and social distancing requirements for learners and teachers.
