Course 2: Characteristics and Impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences
Learn about the impact of adverse childhood experiences, trauma, and mental illness on learning and behavior for PK-12 students. Candidates will recognize how these experiences and conditions can impact growth, development and learning of children and adolescents and the important role that educators and schools can play in reducing risk factors and increasing protective factors.
The virtual course starts on Monday, December 11, 2023 and extends to Sunday, February 18, 2024. In addition to the asynchronous assignments, participants will meet each Thursday from 5:00pm - 7:00pm for eight weeks for a 2-hour synchronous session with the course instructor, Jeffrey Walter, Ed.S., NCSP.
