Course 3: Behavior and Mental Health Literacy
Gain knowledge regarding the characteristics of mental illness in children and youth and the impact this may have on learning and behavior for PK-12 students. Candidates will recognize how these experiences and conditions can impact growth, development and learning of children and adolescents and the important role that educators and schools can play in reducing risk factors and increasing protective factors.
The virtual course starts on Monday, February 26, 2024 and extends to Sunday, April 21, 2024. In addition to the asynchronous assignments, participants will meet each Wednesday from 6:00pm - 8:00pm for eight weeks for a 2-hour synchronous session with the course instructor, Judy Heath, LSW.
