EMERGENCY ALERT NOTIFICATION

On Thursday, April 9, 2020, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, based on COVID-19 pandemic response efforts,  ordered all public schools and early childhood education programs to close through the end of the 2019-2020 academic school year.   

As a result, all Bucks County IU offices, programs, and services are closed through June 30, 2020. Families who receive services from the Bucks IU will continue to be provided a continuity of education through online or virtual platforms.

Responses to Right to Know requests will also be delayed until school offices open once again.

Introduction to STEAM Education

STEM ENDORSEMENT COURSE 1: INTRODUCTION TO STEAM EDUCATION
This course will provide educators with a strong foundation in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Education, introducing students to each of the STEAM disciplines and their corresponding academic standards.

This course is one of four courses that was mutually developed by the Bucks IU and Delaware Valley University and comprise the Bucks IU's STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) Approach to the PDE STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) Endorsement.

Participants will:
develop an understanding of each letter of the STEAM acronym.
create and present a "Fixer Upper" lesson by converting a traditional science, math, or art lesson into a STEAM lesson
