Text Dependent Analysis Three-Day Series - Fall 2019

The 3-day 2019 Fall TDA Series is designed for administrators and teachers who were not able to attend the 4-day 2018 Fall TDA Series. The three sequential workshops will provide a firm foundation in understanding the components of text-dependent analysis: reading comprehension, analysis, and essay writing, along with providing strategies for incorporating the components into ELA instruction in an ongoing and formative manner. Day One: Introduction and Overview of TDAs including Close Reading and Analysis with an emphasis on how Close Reading strategies are necessary to the formulation of Analysis.

Day Two: TDA Prompts: Analyzing the Components of a Prompt, Writing TDA Prompts, and Crafting responses to the Prompt.

Day Three: TDA Learning Progressions for assessing student essay writing will be introduced along with specific instructional strategies designed to move the writing process forward using a formative process.
