What School Leaders Need to Know about English Learners: Benefits for ALL by Meeting the Needs of ELs

When schools actively pursue initiatives to meet the needs of ELs, everyone benefits!
When teachers at all levels and in all content areas learn more about language and the language acquisition process, all students benefit, because all students are developing language skills even as they learn content.
When schools truly embrace and value cultures and languages, all students and teachers develop the understanding and skills needed by global citizens.
When collaboration is valued at all levels, all learners’ needs can be known and considered in the decision-making process. This can result in individualized placement and instruction of ELs, with consideration of the needs of all learners and teachers.
Come to this workshop to develop understanding, skills and perspectives needed to meet the needs of English learners, and discuss school applications which can bring positive benefits to all.
The Registration Price includes a copy of Jan's book, "What School Leaders Need to Know about English Learners."
Registration also includes a light breakfast and lunch.

Participants will earn 5 1/2 Act 48 hours.
