REGARDING THE JANUARY 19, 2021 MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Bucks IU Board of School Directors will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 7:00 pm.  Prior to the Board Meeting, there will be a Finance Committee Meeting at 6:30 PM. Per the Bucks IU Health and Safety plan in response to COVID-19, the meetings will be held virtually and are open to the public.

American Sign Language for Educational Staff

American Sign language instruction for beginners and advanced beginners working in the field of education This will include an introduction to understanding Deafness and Deaf culture. Virtual classes with be held for one hour/week over a period of 6 weeks focusing on relevant topics each week. Participants will have the opportunity to request specific vocabulary themes. There will be ample time for practice.

Participants will be able to:

• Give 3 examples of basic wants and needs you are able to express using American Sign language.
• Give examples of 3 simple requests made by others using sign language that you are able to understand.
• Identify three features of the Deaf Community/Deaf culture.
