Orientation and Mobility Training for the 21st Century

Join fellow orientation and mobility specialists for this hands-on training that will explore emerging teaching areas in the field of Orientation & Mobility. Rideshare, Aira, Seeing AI, and Clew are powerful independence tools for individuals with visual impairments by providing new ways to access and navigate the community.

The morning portion of this training will explore each app and include hands-on trials. The middle portion of training will include a Rideshare trip to a specific location where participants will engage in a scavenger hunt, using the various apps, and then have lunch. After returning to the IU for the afternoon, participants will engage in facilitated discussion about their experiences (e.g., pros/cons, considerations). The day will culminate with participants planning how to implement these technologies into lessons.

The snow date is February 28, 2020

We are also offering ACVREP credits.
