ParaEd: Best Practices for Supporting Diverse Learners in the Mathematics Classroom

In this session, participants will learn about the emerging Science of Math and how to implement best practices to support diverse learners in the mathematics classroom.

SYNCHRONOUS: Content will be presented through a live Zoom meeting. Please create a Zoom account with your full first and last name in advance and make sure your software is up to date. Participants will receive an email from the presenter with the Zoom link at least 24 hours in advance. This communication will be sent to the email address associated with your MLP/Frontline account. In order to receive credit for participation, your Zoom name needs to be complete and accurate (you may need to rename at the start of the meeting, in place of using a phone number) and you will need to complete a Google Exit Ticket.

Participants will:

    Explore why some students struggle with math
    Understand the importance of clear and concise mathematics language
    Learn how to utilize instructional supports such as manipulatives to support learning
