After-School Club: 3D Printing and Design (Grades 4-6)

3D Print Your Own Designs! 3D printing and designing is the technology of the future! This club will introduce students to 3D design software to make their digital designs a reality. Children will learn design techniques in Tinkercad and then be able to watch their creations come to life! This club session will not repeat activities from previous events!

After-School Club: Coding and Robotics (Grades 5-8)

Take coding to the next level! This club will expand your child’s coding and programming knowledge as they move out of Block Coding and into other coding languages! Children will experiment with servos, circuits, sensors, and more as they use their creativity to complete challenges and projects. Our instructors will meet children at their current knowledge and comfort level with coding to ensure that everyone is successful and has fun!

After-School Club: Stop Motion (Grades 3-8)

Start Making Your Own Animated Movies! Does your child like to watch animated movies on YouTube? Now they can create one! Stop Motion is a special type of animation that allows children to make their own movies using real objects! In this club, children will bring their creativity to life in order to tell a story through animation. No prior experience necessary! This club session will not repeat activities from previous events!

Does Your Child Love Minecraft? Children will build, mine, and explore the Minecraft Education landscapes! Kids will learn how to develop, design, and code programs to customize their Minecraft worlds. This club session will not repeat activities from previous events!

After-School Club: Coding and Robotics (Grades 1-5)

It's all about coding and robots! Children will get to know the Fab Lab's family of robots as they learn how to give the robots directions (by writing code) to complete fun, exciting challenges! Robotics introduce kids to programming and engineering in a way that's fun, creative, and interactive. A wide variety of age-appropriate robots will be used, including (but not limited to) Sphero, Finch, Dash, Cubelets, Jimu and more! This club session will not repeat activities from previous Fab Lab events!

After-School Club: 3D Printing and Design (Grades 7+)

STEAM Saturday - Coding and Robots

t's All About ROBOTS! Children will get to know the Fab Lab's family of robots and select different activity stations to code the robots (give the robots a set of directions) in order to be successful with different challenges. Younger kids will begin coding with colors and learn drag-and-drop coding on an iPad, while older children will progress to coding with Scratch on computers. Our Fab Lab Leaders will meet children at their current knowledge and comfort level with coding to ensure that everyone is successful and has fun!

STEAM Saturday – Cardboard Carnival

Everyone LOVES playing carnival games! Kids will be challenged to dream up a carnival game, design it, and then build it out of cardboard using the materials, tools, and equipment at the Fab Lab! They will need to think about creating an attractive design and also about how the game will function. Great skills for real life (this is what toy and game designers do)! Children will have a blast building their own cardboard carnival games and then trying out the games built by others!

STEAM Saturday - Everyday Engineering Challenges

It's all about engineering! Engineers dream up creative, practical solutions to invent, design, and build things. At this STEAM Saturdays session, kids will be engineers and use everyday materials (think: cardboard, pipe cleaners, paper cups, rubber bands!) to successfully respond to fun design challenges!

Ready, Set, Battle! Kids will be challenged to design a battle shell for a robot and then engage in friendly competition! Kids will practice coding as they navigate their robot through various races and then compete in friendly battles that require problem solving, creativity, and collaboration. There will be various robots to choose from and the competition is sure to be friendly and fun!

Discounts, Scholarships, and Health and Safety at the Fab Lab Center

Discounts for siblings who are all attending an event are available.  We also have scholarships for those who may qualify. Prior to registering, please email the Fab Lab Center at FabLab@BucksIU.org for complete details.   

All attendees of events and activities at the Fab Lab Center must follow the Bucks IU Health and Safety Plan.
